Horticulture Minister reviews schemes for farmers’ benefits

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has decided to leave no stone unturned to make the state a horticulture hub. In this regard, Horticulture Minister Mohinder Bhagat recently conducted a review meeting with senior officials about the implementation of the government’s schemes by the Horticulture Department.

He stressed that the farmers must get maximum benefit through the horticulture cultivation.During the marathon meeting, a detailed discussion took place on potato seeds with the officials. On this occasion, several plans were finalized for the promotion of potato farming along with vegetables in the state.

Besides this, discussion was held regarding the new projects of the central government in the horticulture sector. Emphasis was given to make the institutions strong, which come under the horticulture sector. The Minister said that CM Mann has been trying his best to make the state’s farmers more prosperous and make them economically potent as well.
