Horticulture Project to be Extended by Himachal Government

One year extension was asked by the State Government to finish the ongoing Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Development Project (HPHDP) that is funded by the World Bank.

The Rs 1,135 crore project was planned to complete in June 2023, however, it’s probably not going to complete in the given time period. Till June 15, 2022, Rs 564 crore has been spent on the venture, which adds up to almost 53% of the all-out spending plan. 60% of the budget will be used by the end of June and the remaining 40% will be used in the coming year. World Bank teams have arrived in India to check the progress.
According to the World Bank, the preparation phase and hiring consultants went longer than expected but later on the project picked up a good speed.
