Huge demand: Ahmedabad flower show extended till Republic Day
Ahmedabad: The ongoing Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s annual flower show at the Sabarmati Riverfront has touched everyone’s heart. Currently, people are going in large numbers to see the different varieties of flowers and plants. January 24 was the date of its closure. Seeing the enthusiasm of the visitors, the organizers have decided to extend its closing date until January 26. The extension will give opportunity to those visitors who failed to set their feet in the breathtaking show.
People from overseas countries are also coming in large numbers to explore the city’s horticultural pride. The vibrant display of floriculture has won the hearts of lakhs, making it a festive celebration in the city. To boost its popularity, the city civic body made arrangements for pre-wedding and movie shoots at the flower show, but it failed to attract visitors.

This decision was taken to attract couples and filmmakers. . High prices may be one of the reasons for the poor response, because the rates for these shoots ranged from Rs 25,000 to Rs 35,000 per hour. However, this minor setback could not hinder the popularity of the show.
Despite failing to grab the attraction of pre-wedding shoots, the flower show has been continuing with remarkable success. Visitors want to set their feet and enjoy every moment of the show; they also get a chance to spend some time in the natural environment. The event not only displays the floral exhibition; rather, people will get a chance to learn about the state’s rich cultural heritage as well.
