A major attraction for the crowd is the hydroponic technique of growing plants in a water-based and nutrition-rich solution. It has pulled a huge number of people. These plants can be grown without soil; instead, their roots get support through perlite, rockwool, clay pellets, peat moss, and vermiculite. Such plants flourish with the help of a hydroponic system. Several plants, such as lettuce, spinach, kale, basil, and tomatoes, are being grown through this method. The significance of hydroponic plants is that they grow fast, are disease resistant, and are known for bumper production.
Several stalls have been established in this mela, enticing plant enthusiasts from West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Haryana, Punjab, and several other states. Chrysanthemum Garden near the entry point is another major attraction of the mela.
Visitors have an opportunity to purchase exotic and outdoor plants, indoor plants in refurbished bottles, garden materials, tools, as well as stand pots and planters at reasonable prices.
