The MOC focuses on technical exchanges, training, harvest and post-harvest management, and sharing technological expertise between the two countries. The goal is to create new opportunities for farmers and businesses while supporting the growth of horticulture industries in both nations.

A major highlight of the agreement is the joint development of the kiwifruit sector. “Kiwi fruit will be the first significant achievement under this partnership, already worth $600 million. This agreement could generate up to $1 billion in horticultural benefits over the next decade,” McClay stated.

New Zealand is the horticulture hub, and the production of crops is high; kiwifruit is well-known all over the world for its high-quality production. The collaboration with India is likely to give a new shape to the horticulture sector, and the market of the nations will also be expanded.
