India for the 1st time to host World Coffee Conference

New Delhi. India is getting ready to create history as it prepares to serve as the inaugural host country for the prestigious World Coffee Conference (WCC). The fifth edition of the international conference, which is being hosted by the International Coffee Organization (ICO), will take place in Bengaluru from September 25 to September 28.

The main goal of founding International Coffee Organization is to increase cooperation between countries that produce and consume coffee. It is an important intergovernmental organization. India’s Coffee Board will work with the ICO to put together this historic conference in light of India’s rise as a significant participant in the coffee business.

The event’s logo was unveiled on Monday during a preview ceremony for WCC 2023. K G Jagadeesha, the organization’s CEO and secretary announced Rohan Bopanna, an Indian tennis player to be the brand ambassador of the conference.

This meeting is not only a source of pride for India, but it also has immense potential for the nation’s coffee farmers. According to Jagadeesha, WCC, 2023 would be the first such tournament to be held in Asia. The distinctive tastes and varieties of coffee produced in India are anticipated to be showcased on a worldwide stage, creating new opportunities and markets for the nation’s coffee producers.

“Sustainability through a Circular Economy and Regenerative Agriculture” is the main theme of WCC 2023. In addition to conferences and exhibitions, it will also include skill-building workshops, a CEOs & Global Leaders Forum, and a Growers Conclave. The objectives of these initiatives are to address the difficulties the coffee industry faces and to advance sustainable and regenerative processes.

With attendees from more than 80 nations, the conference is destined to become a melting pot of ideas from various parts of the globe. The best practices and novel ideas will be shared by producers, curers, roasters, exporters, legislators, and researchers and the future of the coffee industry will be discussed.
