International Horticulture Market in India will Develop like France’s Rungis
The proposal of Haryana International Horticulture Marketing Corporation Limited has already been approved by the Ministry of Agriculture to develop an international fruit, flower and horticulture market. Three thousand crore rupees have been approved for this. 17 big sheds will be built in the market. Air-conditioned flower market and fish market will be set up here. Apart from this, there will be a separate shed for apple, onion, tomato, dairy products including potato, flower, fruit and vegetable market. Parking will also be made here to park vehicles coming from different states. Along with this, a workshop will also be set up for the vehicles.
A separate 10-acre colony will be set up for the officers and employees in the International Fruit, Flower and Horticulture Market. It will have accommodation and park facilities. In these, big quarters will be constructed for officers and separate quarters for employees. Sewer and drinking water lines will be laid in the market premises. Sewer Treatment Plant (STP) will be constructed for the drainage from the sewer line. Along with this, Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) will be built for drinking water supply in the market and residential colonies. Solid Waste Management Plant (SWMP) will be constructed to manage the waste generated from the market.
International Horticulture Market will be developed in Ganaur on the lines of Rungis International Market of France. Tender has been floated in this regard. The last date of application is 2nd November. The tender will be opened on November 3. It will take two months to allot the tender. After the tender is allotted, the agency concerned will have to develop the market in two years.
