Kashmir Floriculture Department to Launch Online Portal, 24×7 Tourist Assistance Helpline

The working of the Floriculture Department of Kashmir has been reviewed by Commissioner Secretary of Parks Gardens and Floriculture, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad.
He stressed the need to spread awareness among the locals about the cultivation of flowers which have the potential and scope to benefit people and improve their standards of living.
An online portal will be launched by the department to provide information for the tourists and stakeholders. The services that will be made online include e-ticketing for gardens and parks, e-permission for photo and video shooting in gardens, e-registration for flower growers and other things. He said that the department would also launch a 24×7 helpline to assist the tourists.
The online portal will also provide us with information about the number of tourists visiting the gardens.
As part of the deliverables, Lupin Garden/Club Park at Gulmarg was developed, environmental awareness campaigns were conducted, Swachhta Abhiyan campaigns were conducted in gardens and parks, and Grower training and exposure events were conducted.
The district officers were directed to focus on commercial floriculture in their respective districts, highlight the achievements through print and electronic media, and involve schools in every district in the Swachhta Abhiyans.
