New Delhi: The price of vegetables and fruits are touching new heights with each passing day. Everyone is worried with this hike in price. Not only tomato but other vegetables and fruits are also becoming costlier. Kritashree from Muzaffarpur has found a beautiful solution to this inflation by growing vegetables and fruits on her roof.
Kritashree’s garden
Though roof gardening and kitchen gardening is becoming popular in the cities due to lack of space for field gardens, what makes Kritashree’s garden stand out is the vast variety of fruits and vegetables grown on her terrace. Kritashree lives in Keshari Colony of Muzaffarpur. Her kitchen gardening has turned the roof into beautiful verdant roof making it feast for the eyes as well as fulfilling requirements of her kitchen.
Her plantation includes vegetables like green chillies, gourd, zucchini, colocasia, tomatoes etc. What is surprising is that she has also planted American dragon fruit, pomegranate and apple which is rarely planted on roofs.

She has also planted seasonal fruits like including guava, watermelon, star fruit, red custard apple and cherry. She has opted for organic measures which yields healthy fruits and vegetables, she is able to fulfill her kitchen needs herself by growing vegetables and fruits of her choice.
