Macfrut to organize seminar on biotechnological tools in horticulture

Rome: Macfrut, the global fruit and vegetable trade fair, is set to organize the ‘International Seminar on Biotechnological Tools in Horticulture’ for the first time at the Rimini Expo Centre, Italy, from May 6 to May 8, 2025. The aim of the symposium is to bring top exporters of biotechnology tools on one platform. The event is being organized by the International Society of Horticultural Science (ISHS), in association with the Polytechnic University of Marche.

The event will display the most modern techniques in biotechnological tools that have been used in the horticultural crops. Numerous key topics, such as vitro plant cultures for creating new, resilient plant varieties. Studies in functional genomics and advanced plant genotyping and phenotyping. New precision breeding methods like genome editing and cisgenesis/intragenesis and so on are expected to be discussed in this event.

The seminar is going to take place on May 5. After that, the programme will run alongside the Macfrut fair at the Rimini Expo Centre, featuring many sessions and exhibitions. The symposium will end on May 9. The upcoming seminar will inform the companies and individuals how to apply innovative ideas so that the production of fruits and vegetables can be increased.
