Manikyam Pulla Chantiyya felicitated with Bharat Kala Ratna Award & Honorary Doctorate

Chennai: “Honour is the reward of virtue.” And this prevalent maxim aptly fits for this unparalleled talent in the field of nursery – Manikyam Pulla Chantiyya, who heads the Kadiyapulanka Sri Satyadeva Nursery and is a former president of Kadiyam Nursery Man Association, received honorary doctorate and Bharata Kala Ratna awards simultaneously in Chennai on Saturday.

Although he did not study extensively, he has gained more experience than Ph.D in nursing, “which is the first record in the field of nursery”. He has been selected for these prestigious awards by the acclaimed Global Human Peace University. Chantiyya received the awards for his role in business environmental protection announced by the university.

Satyanarayana (Chantiyya), who has excelled in the field of nursery, received the awards at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Chennai amidst cheers. As a real nursery farmer and as a nursery owner he worked extensively with the farm workers.

Pulla Venkatarao was the second son of Veerayamma Punyadapatu. He entered the nursery field as a follower of his father Venkatravu. He gained special recognition in the nursery field of the country. With the inspiration provided by his father Venkatarao, Chantiyya started selling plants on a bicycle. Chantiyya worked as a laborer in a nursery in a typical style.

His son Peda Satyanarayana was also entrusted with the responsibility of the nursery. Chantiyya has been a tireless achiever in the past. He has been awarded with several prestigious awards like Best Horticulturist, Best Farmer, Best Nursery Man etc.
