MCD takes steps to keep Delhi pollution under control

New Delhi: MCD has taken a stern step on Wednesday in view to combat air pollution in the national capital. The civic agency sealed 84 factories and disconnected the power supply to several industries across the city for violating norms. As per the official, this step is taken as part of an effort to mitigate air pollution ahead of winter.

Last month, MCD inspected around 520 industrial units because they were not following the norms of pollution control. Therefore, the civic body is ready to seal all the industries that are not following the prescribed rules of the government.

MCD officials further added that more action will be taken within 15 days because winter has started knocking on the door. In Delhi, NCR, air pollution creates a severe problem for the people of all groups. Many pollution-related diseases take place due to pollution.

The official further added that more action is underway, particularly targeting the Rithala area in North West Delhi, where further violations are expected to be addressed in the coming weeks. It means MCD doesn’t want to take any risk.

One of the officials went on to say that MCD has been working relentlessly to overcome the pollution of the Yamuna. Therefore, the Delhi civic body is ready to locate such industries that are throwing their waste material in the Yamuna.

The Delhi government made a promise that pollution control will be the key agenda of the AAP government, which also runs the MCD. The government has been focusing on cleaning Yamuna as part of the environmental degradation in society.
