Mohali Municipal Corporation to Establish Horticulture Waste Processing Plant in Jagatpura Village

Mohali: The Mohali Municipal Corporation is gearing up to tackle environmental challenges head-on with its latest initiative to establish a horticulture waste processing plant in Jagatpura village. This move comes in response to the escalating concern over the management of green waste in the region and aims to provide a sustainable solution to the issue.

The local bodies department has sanctioned⟨₹⟩ 17.2 lakhs for the project. The MC has also purchased the machinery worth⟨₹⟩ 6 lakhs, said MC Commissioner.

The proposed plant, slated to be located in Jagatpura village, will employ advanced technology and machinery to efficiently process horticulture waste. Through composting and bioconversion techniques, the plant will transform organic waste into valuable resources such as compost and biogas, thereby reducing the strain on landfills and curbing environmental degradation.
