New Delhi: Buoyed by the recent technological advancements and robust prospect in the horticulture sector, Indian Nurserymen Association (INA) is contemplating to have a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Shanghai based agriculture and forestry institute soon.

Welcoming the team of a Chinese delegation at Greenways Nursery, YP Singh, President, INA said, “We discussed about giving exposure to the nurserymen of India with techniques and technologies being used in China. We proposed the idea of signing a memorandum with Shanghai Vocational College for Agriculture and Forestry for giving hands-on training to the team of 50 Indian delegates visiting China. This idea of INA was very heartily welcomed by the guests.”

Fu Xianfeng, First secretary, the Embassy of the People’s Republic China in India; Miss Geng Yanxia (Sharon), Deputy of International Exchange and cooperation office Shanghai Vocational College for Agriculture and Forestry; and Yang Xiuhua, Counsellor, the Embassy of the People’s Republic China in India visited Greenways Nursery on Monday (21st August).

Corroborating Singh’s views, Miss Geng Yanxia told Nursery Today, “Our college also has the advantage in gardening and horticulture. We do hope that that next time soon our two universities and Indian Nursery Association can establish a cooperation and find common programs we can devote to. Surely, signing MoU as early is the next step we are expecting to do.”

She further said, “It was a very nice visit to Greenways Nursery. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Sanskriti University and Professor Arun Tyagi; and President YP Singh for this great arrangement. The nursery base is very big and beautiful. It is very surprising that the industry of Indian Horticulture is developing so fast and the horticultural exchange with China is so close.”

“Now, we are very enthusiastically looking forward to work with them and improving Nursery Businesses in India. INA also extends special thanks to Prof. Arun Tyagi for his support. He led from the front to make this event a huge success,” YP Singh concluded.
