MP plans district-wise mapping of horticulture crops to boost productivity
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stressed the district-wise mapping of horticulture crops in the state. He urged the officials to make a concrete plan for the expansion of gardens on vacant land of universities and government departments. The state government wants to develop this sector through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The CM shared these concepts during an assessment meeting of the Horticulture and Food Processing Department at his residence on Thursday.

He went on to say that it is essential to organize workshops and fairs at the district levels on a regular basis, where farmers and business owners will gain knowledge about the new techniques that are being used in other states in the horticulture sector. He also suggested organizing a special summit focused on horticulture and food processing, similar to the Investors’ Summit. The aim is to encourage growth in these sectors.
Mohan Yadav further added that the state has an abundance of water and electricity, including conducive weather for horticulture farming. The government has been encouraging farmers and others to improve their productivity in this field. He said that different districts, such as Chambal, Malwa, and Mahakaushal, need to create their own blueprint for the improvement in horticulture.
Officials revealed that the next Horticulture Industry Conclave is set to be held next week in Neemuch and Mandsaur. In this congregation the main focus will be on medicinal agriculture.
