Mysuru gears up for Dussehra flower show with fabulous replicas
Mysuru: The Dussehra festival is set to be celebrated on October 12 this year, and Mysuru is once again gearing up to organize the annual Flower Show at Kuppanna Park (Nishad Bhag). In this unique flower display, fabulous flower replicas of famous buildings like the new Parliament House, Anubhava Mantapa, and a 12th-century meeting place created by the social reformer Basavanna, symbolizing equality.
The third display will represent the teachings of Gautama Buddha with a flower-made Legislative Assembly Hall showcasing his spiritual lessons. All these will be crafted from millions of flowers inside the beautiful glasshouse.
The show has the significance of the Dussehra festival; more than one lakh flower pots and above 40 kinds of flowers grown by the Horticulture Department will be displayed in the show. Every year, visitors thronged to see the beauty of flowers, and this year the show is likely to be more crowded due to three special designs.

Each of these structures will face different directions, with the Parliament House at the front and the Anubhava Mantapa and Legislative Assembly behind it; after that, the teachings of Gautama Buddha. Colorful flower pots from around these displays will further add to the beauty of the show.
Aritsts from Bengaluru and Mysuru are currently working round the clock on building the iron frames for the floral structures. Once it is prepared, sponge will be added to shape the displays, and in the end, flowers will be attached to finish the decorations by October 2.
