Nature lovers flock to witness Raipur’s flower show

Raipur: Gandhi Udyan in Raipur has been blooming with an annual flower show. The event has brought jubilation to the faces of nature lovers and horticulture enthusiasts. The exhibition has been organized by Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) in collaboration with the Prakriti Ki or Society. The show has been taking place for the last 15 years, inaugurated by Chhattisgarh Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam on Friday.

The minister appreciated the event and stressed bringing school children to connect and make them aware of nature. This way they will learn the values of nature’s gift. Crowds have thronged to the venue to see the wonderful presentation of different varieties of flowers. Many of them are taking a keen interest in how to grow it, from where these are procured, and so on.

More than 10,000 varieties of flowers have been brought this year compared to last year’s 8,000. Besides this, state-level fruits, flowers, and vegetables have also been brought to the exhibition for the showcasing. Several breathtaking flower bouquets, vegetable rangoli, and bonsai trees have made the event cheerful.

One of the unique features of this year is a 55-inch, 6-kilogram gourd grown by Rajesh Agarwal, a JSP employee; it is unbelievable for many visitors. But that is the truth. The event has brought dignitaries such as former MP and Raipur South MLA Sunil Soni, Raipur North MLA Purandar Mishra, and Agriculture University Vice Chancellor Girish Chandel; they went on to visit the different stalls and got first-hand knowledge about the exhibition.

The Raipur flower show has enticed a huge number of visitors from all age groups. They are enjoying a lot after seeing natural beauty, taking selfies to remember it in the future. The three-day festival will conclude on Sunday.
