NBRI flower show dazzles visitors with varieties of roses 

Lucknow: Lucknow residents witnessed some dazzling varieties of flowers in the annual flower show organized by the CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI). The two days  event got underway on Saturday, displaying some remarkable collection of roses and gladiolus, enticing nature lovers to come and see some amazing flowers and plants during the event. It seems the flower show has spread its fragrance in the entire city.

State Agriculture Production Commissioner Monika Garg was the chief guest of the event; incidentally, he inaugurated the show, while Dr. S.K. Tiwari, the garden in-charge, showed his happiness over the positive response from the visitors and participants.

Several unusual species of flowers, like the Rosa floribunda ‘Anthony Meilland’ and varieties of grandiflora and autumn damask roses, have made the event more prosperous. Gladiolus blooms, in nearly every shade imaginable, added another feather to the NBRI gardens.

Retired professor Abhinav Sahai, a long-time attendee, shared, “I’ve been living in Lucknow for over ten years and never miss this show. It’s a chance to see rare flowers and buy plants.” Young visitors thronged to the event, taking selfies with the exciting roses and giving their remarks regarding unforgettable kinds of flowers.

Dr. A.K. Shasany, Director of NBRI, emphasized the show’s legacy, stating, “We have been organizing this annual event for over 60 years to promote roses and gladiolus in North India and educate plant enthusiasts.”

The NBRI flower show has now become the tradition of Lucknow, bringing nature and flower lovers on one platform, showcasing some unbelievable varieties of flowers that increase the beauty of botanical wonders.
