Noida’s 37th annual flower show to begin from February 20

Noida: The 37th annual flower show, Vasant Utsav, is set to unfold in Noida from February 20 and will continue till February 23. The Noida Authority, in partnership with the city’s floriculture association, has been organizing the four-day event. The vibrant floriculture festival is gearing up to take place at Helipad Ground/Shivalik Park in Sector 33A. The timing of the show is from 11 am to 9 pm.

Maha Kumbh’s ‘Triveni Sangam of Prayagraj’ will be the main theme, and visitors will get a chance to witness a dazzling flowery entry. A huge replica of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is to be another attraction for the visitors. After the opening ceremony, several performances will take place during the four-day show, such as blossom arrangements, cut flower and vegetable sculptures, and a fusion band performance.

Visitors will get an opportunity to see some spectacular flowers such as alyssum, aster, brachycome, calendula, dianthus, gazania, larkspur, marigold, nasturtium, Californian poppy, salvia, stock, verbena, and viola, and many more during the event. It is expected that above 80 stalls will be established, showcasing gardening tools, pottery, manure, and other horticultural supplies.

Several programmes like the distribution of prizes and the performance of cultural dances, along with the flash painting competition and Kavi Sammelan, are expected to take place. A lesson will be taught to the schoolchildren about plantation methods and how to make kitchen trash into compost.

According to Vandana Tripathi, CEO of the Authority, substantial efforts have been made to guarantee that the event runs smoothly. Officials have sent invitations to schools, corporate offices, colleges, and resident welfare associations (RWAs) for their participation, and organizers have been working on a war footing for the smooth conduct of the event.
