North India’s Nurserymen Meet And Mango Celebration-A Brief Report

A North India’s Nurserymen Meet and Mango Celebration was held at the Mango Town Shahjahanpur in District Meerut of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, 3 July 2022. The event was organised by the UP Chapter and Meerut Mandal unit of Indian Nurserymen Association.

Mr. YP Singh, President, Indian Nurserymen Association (INA) has stressed the need for setting up International Nursery Hubs in the country on the pattern of the hubs working in China and Thailand. At these Nursery Hubs, there should be spaces for nursery people for showcasing their products including various kinds of plants, related nursery products, equipment, services, etc. as well as facilities for export and import, besides hotels and restaurants for international visitors at one place.

Mr. YP Singh was addressing the INA’s Nurserymen Meet and Mango Celebration at the Mango Town Shahjahanpur of District Meerut in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, 3 July 2022. On this occasion, Mr Rajendra Agrawal, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Meerut was the Chief Guest. The meet and celebration were organised by the Meerut Mandal unit of the INA.

Mr Singh said that the demand of the INA to set up the international nursery hubs was pending before the Central Government. He requested Mr Agrawal to raise this issue before the Government and help realise the proposed Hubs in different zones of the country. Mr Singh further requested the Member of Parliament Mr Agrawal to get a governmental survey conducted of all kinds of nurseries in the country to gather authentic and official data on the nurseries in the country.

Mr Rajendra Agrawal in his address assured all his help in bringing the INA’s demands under favourable consideration of the Government. He also assured the people of Shahjahanpur-Kithore to do their best to establish a food processing project in the area as this area is a leader in the production of fruits, especially mango. Mr Agrawal said that this will generate employment opportunities for the people of the area and benefit the farmers to get the best prices for their produce.

Padma Shri Prof Hakim Syed Zillur Rahman, Founding President of Ibn Sina Academy, Aligarh also graced the occasion and wished the INA great success.

Other speakers of the occasion included former MLA Mr Satyaveer Tyagi, Deputy Director Horticulture of Meerut Dr Vineet Kumar, INA General Secretary Mr Mukul Tyagi, and INA Treasurer Mr Mukesh Sharma. Mr Mehr-e-Alam Khan was the master of ceremony. Mr Ghālib Khan welcomed the guests.

Present MLA and former minister of UP, Mr. Shahid Manzoor joined the celebration at the tail end of the function. He had a detailed discussion about INA’s work and achievements with President YP Singh and other members of the governing council after the function. He assured that he will help INA in every possible way.

Head of the BBC Hindi Service Mr Rajesh Priyadarshi, Senior Journalists like Mr Qurban Ali, Mr Anil Maheshwari, Mr Shambhunath Shukla, Resident Editor of Hindustan (Hindi) Mr Suryakant Dwiwedi, senior Journalist and academic Mr Shrikant Asthana, NDTV’s senior reporter Mr Raveesh Ranjan Shukla, and representatives of different media houses were present at the occasion.

The event was organised with the dedicated efforts of the INA’s Governing Council members Mr Ghālib Khan and Mr Mehr-e-Alam Khan, UP Chapter Treasurer Mr Rafeeq Khan, Meerut Mandal President Mr Nadeem Chaudhary and General Secretary Mr Arif Chaudhary. Other post holders and members of the UP Chapter and Meerut Mandal also helped in making the event a success.
