PAU receives Rs 40 crore from Punjab govt to upgrade infrastructure
Ludhiana: The Punjab government has decided to allocate a Rs 40 crore grant to Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in its 2025-26 budget. The aim of the funding is to develop infrastructure to match global levels and boost research and teaching programmes. The promotion of agricultural innovation is the top priority. PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema for providing support.
He said that PAU has been working relentlessly for the last six decades for the growth of agriculture and horticulture in the state. With the coming of funds, they will be used in the modernization of the campus and to make the learning facilities better.

Several other developments, such as the making of a new hostel, classrooms, laboratories, and washrooms, will also take place. It will also support the expansion of roads and the installation of tubewell water and sewerage lines, and improvements are expected to take place in electrical systems, elevators, and CCTV security. Besides this, the upgrading process of residential complexes, guest houses, the university hospital, and auditoriums will begin soon. The School of Digital Innovations for Smart Agriculture (S-DISA) is expected to be developed with advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, IoT, and geospatial intelligence.
This initiative will be beneficial to making PAU a world-class agriculture university with all the modern facilities of high quality where students and researchers are set to get quality facilities. Later, they will use their experience in practical life after their study.
