Plant & flower expo brings greenery to Barmer’s desert
Barmer: The three-day Mega Plant & Flower Exhibition began on Friday in the desert region of Barmer, Rajasthan. For the next three days, the fragrance of flowers will spread across this arid land, bringing a unique charm to the region. The event is being organized jointly by the Plant Lover Institute and PM Shri Mahatma Gandhi Government School at the Amrit Vatika on the high school ground in the city. The exhibition was inaugurated by Cairn Assets Director Brigadier B.S. Shekhawat, PCC Secretary Azad Singh Rathore, BJP leader Kailash Kotadia, and Colonel Praveen Tomar.
Speaking at the event, Brigadier B.S. Shekhawat praised the initiative, saying that hosting such an exhibition in Barmer, Rajasthan’s largest desert district, is an excellent effort. He also appreciated the active participation of women in the exhibition, acknowledging their dedication and enthusiasm.

PCC Secretary Azad Singh Rathore expressed that this exhibition is a moment of pride for the people of the Thar desert and will serve as an educational experience for future generations. He emphasized that school and college students visiting the exhibition will gain valuable knowledge and inspiration from it.
Priyanka Agarwal, Vice President of the Plant Lover Institute, shared that this is Barmer’s first-ever plant and flower exhibition, showcasing over 5,000 plants from 250 different species. She mentioned that the selected plants require minimal care, making them ideal for home decoration even with limited maintenance.
The event was conducted by Praveen Bothra, and this unique floral exhibition in Barmer’s desert landscape is not only a visual delight but also an initiative to encourage plant lovers and increase awareness among people.
