Prataprao Jadhav starts campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, plants amla tree 

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a national campaign called ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ on World Environment Day, June 5, 2024. On this occasion, Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav sowed an Indian gooseberry (amla) tree in memory of his late mother at Ayush Bhawan, New Delhi. While addressing the press conference, the minister went on to say that the aim of the campaign is a step to promote environmental conservation.

In fact, the people will get a chance to show their love and affection for their mothers and the motherlands. This type of promotion certainly encourages people to plant trees, especially medicinal plants, and share their photos on social media to inspire others to join the campaign as well.

The minister appealed to the people nationwide to be aware and sow medicinal plants in their surroundings as part of the campaign. He further added that the movement is a global effort to raise awareness about protecting and sustainably developing the environment.

On this occasion, Prataprao Jadhav was accompanied by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, and Dr. Mahesh Dadhichi, CEO, National Medicinal Plants Board, and other senior officials of the Ministry.

Amla’ is replete with health benefits, given below:

Boosts immunity and heart health: Amla is rich in vitamin C, which helps in the improvement of immunity for all ages. It also promotes digestion and supports liver function.
