Prayagraj hosts horticulture fair, distributes vegetable seeds free
Prayagraj: All the state governments have been working relentlessly on the improvement in the horticulture sector. In recent years, India has made huge progress in this area. Therefore, the production of vegetables and fruits has surged. An integrated horticulture fair was organized in Prayagraj on Sunday. In the one-day event, several experts were also present, and they advised the farmers about dos and don’ts regarding the farming of fruits and vegetables.
On this occasion, seeds of several vegetables, such as cauliflower, cabbage, chili, tomato, bottle gourd, cucumber, and many more, were given to farmers free in the promotion of the horticulture sector in the state so that farmers can increase their income.
Farmer earns Rs 24 lakh annually through VNR guava farming
Several top brass of the Horticulture Department were also present in the programme. District Horticulture Officer urged that the UP government has been giving subsidies in planting orchards of guava, amla (Indian gooseberry), jackfruit, papaya, and so on. The state government is ready to transmit knowledge to farmers about how to grow dragon fruit, strawberry, water chestnut, makhana, and so on.
Under the PM agriculture irrigation scheme, farmers are getting subsidies of 65 to 90 per cent for the establishment of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. This will definitely encourage the poor farmers to put their steps in the horticulture sector and grow more and more fruits and vegetables.
Deputy Director Horticulture Krishna Mohan Chaudhary gave detailed information regarding the preparation of nursery and how to increase production scientifically. Randhir Singh, President, Farmers Producer Organization, Mirpur, conducted the event. On this occasion, several farmers were also present.
