PSPCL Issues Schedule for Power Supply for Crops and Vegetables: 8 Hours Supply for Horticulture Crops
The Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) has given a supply schedule for agriculture consumers for sowing of other crops and vegetables.
As per the schedule that is issued from April 20 onwards, the cotton area feeders will get eight hours of power supply and six hours power supply will be provided for the crops like Sugarcane, litchi, sunflower and other horticulture crops. Similarly, for the remaining crops four hours daily or eight hours alternate hours of power supply will be provided by the PSPCL.
The Punjab cotton belt farmers, were demanding the reclamation of power to the tube wells to irrigate their agricultural fields as water is required for cotton sowing and for irrigating the green fodder for livestock and some other crops.
The PSPCL, as a preventive measure to avoid any fire incident in the standing wheat fields, has stopped the power supply to tube wells temporarily this year.
