New Delhi. Quitting the high paying private job and building a successful career in organic farming, despite all the criticism from family and society, have a look at the inspiring journey of Hange brothers, Satyajit Hange and Ajinkya Hange, owner of the brand, Two Brothers Organic Farm from Pune who converted their passion for organic farming into a business with an annual turnover of INR 3 crores.

Hange brothers grew up in Pune, studied in Anglo- Indian boarding school in the city. It was during the holidays, that they visited their farm at Bhodani village in Indapur taluka, 150 km away (3 hours) away from Pune where their father toiled away to provide their education.

They did MBA from Pune University  and got placed in top MNCs- MNCs – Satyajit at Kotak bank and Ajinkya at HDFC bank. They worked for around 10 years before deciding to quit their jobs to pursue organic farming.

Their decision was received with much criticism: “Farming is not a profitable option. You don’t study in the city and return to your village to toil in the field!” But they were set in their ways.

They decided to opt for organic farming, that is farming without making use of chemicals. It is done organically without using any external inputs. No urea, no pesticides, no insecticides, no chemical in whatever form. We are using cow dung and urine from indigenous cows instead.

The Hange brothers, who started on a small parcel of land, today practice organic farming on a 20-acre farm, making an annual turnover of Rs 3 crore. They employ traditional methods of farming and use cow dung as manure.

The two brothers sell a variety of organic goods, including laddoos, gulkand, chyawanprash, rice, ghee, and pulses. Additionally, visitors to their farms have come from over 14 other nations to learn about their organic agricultural practices. Travelers, farmers, media professionals, and bankers from the USA, France, Germany, and Australia are among them. They have also trained 16,000 farmers from India in practising organic farming  and work with more than 800 farmers on more than 1,000 acres.

Actor Akshay Kumar and cricketer Virendra Sehwag have donated Rs 14.50 crore for Two Brothers Organic Farm’s pre-Series. Satyajit Hange, tells that Sehwag traveled from Delhi and spent a full day at their farm in Indapur, which is located 135 kilometers from Pune. He tells that no one in his entire family had ever been able to run a farm profitably despite having a history in farming. He desired a role in their growth. Akshay was also familiar with their company. He wanted to become an investor even though they have never met.
