Rashtrapati Nilayam to host Udyan Utsav from December 29
Secunderabad: Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum, Secunderabad, is gearing up to host a 15-day Flower and Horticulture Festival, Udyan Utsav, starting December 29, 2024. The event is to be organised with support from the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, MANAGE Hyderabad, and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The aim of the event is to promote sustainability and showcase the beauty of nature.
The festival will be replete with a variety of actions, including thematic stalls and workshops focusing on new techniques in agriculture and horticulture so that visitors can learn the importance of eco-friendly practices and new horticulture technologies as well.

President Droupadi Murmu visited Rashtrapati Nilayam on December 18 to evaluate the ongoing preparations of the event, ensuring that facilities for visitors are ready. During her visit, she inaugurated a Mitti Café and a souvenir shop at the Visitor Facilitation Centre. She also inspected the composting unit, which turns garden waste into organic manure, encouraging environmentally friendly waste management.
Rashtrapati Nilayam remains open throughout the year for the general public, except during the President’s stay. Visitors can book their slots online at rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in. The Udyan Utsav is set to provide an engaging and educational experience for nature lovers, florists, and horticulturists, combining innovation, sustainability, and community participation.
