New Delhi: The entire nation is in the grip of shock due to the passing away of versatile industrialist Ratan Tata. A man who left no stone unturned in his life journey. Tata’s contributions for the business, society, and environment will be remembered forever. He put every ounce of his energy in the promotion of greenery and environmental conservation, considered an integral part of his legacy.
One of his initiatives is the “Green Thumb” project, a program that pushes for tree plantations at various project sites in the country. He had one aim in his mind: to create a healthy atmosphere through spreading greenery in the nation.
With deep sorrow, I condole the passing away of one of the giants of the Indian Industry, Shri Ratan Tata. Among the Indian business houses, Tatas have been the one that I have admired the most. The Tata Group’s recent focus on environmental sustainability gained recognition under the leadership of N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons. Tata Group launched a project known as ‘Aalingana’ with an aim to make the planet greener, cleaner, and more sustainable. Currently, sustainability is the biggest challenge for humanity in the coming times.
Chandrasekaran also expressed pride that the Indian government is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2070, an encouraging sign for a nation. The main focus of Tata Group’s is to reduce pollution, but it is possible after the coming up of electric vehicles and hydrogen for commercial transportation and greening several sectors like steel, cement, and so on.
As the nation pays homage to Ratan Tata, his commitment for the betterment of the environment and his belief in building a better and greener India will always be remembered.
