Rs 2000 Crore for Horticulture Farms in Uttarakhand

In his first visit to the national capital since taking the oath for a second term, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and sought the Centre’s support on the following initiatives:

1. To construct horticulture farms in the hill state at the package of Rs. 2000 crore.

2. Taking into account the limited financial resources of the state, the chief minister          requested an extension of the GST compensation period.

3. To set up an Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Uttarakhand to promote the latest technology and scientific research.

4. To establish a National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NISR) in the state so that the pharmaceutical industry in the hill state can flourish.

5. A special initiative should be made by the Centre for an amicable solution outside the court to transfer the share of Uttar Pradesh to Uttarakhand in the shareholding of THDC India Limited.

6. To approve the “Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission” to connect temples of Kumaon Mandal for pilgrimage on the lines of Char Dham.

7. Permission to operate air services from the Pithoragarh air strip.

8. Construction of Rishikesh-Uttarkashi railway line.

9. Permission for the construction of the Rishikesh-Doiwala railway track and shifting of Dehradun railway station to Harrawala.

10. The establishment of the All India Institute of Ayurveda in Rishikesh will promote the AYUSH system and provide employment to the youngsters.

11. To sanction a budget of ?20 to 25 crore per year under the State Police Force Modernisation Scheme to make the state police more effective and modern.

12. Nirbhaya Fund (25 crores) for the relief and rehabilitation of women victims of crime.

13. To start air services under the regional connectivity scheme.

14. To provide permission to develop a transport facility in the Dharchula area of Pithoragarh as it is a bordering area. Dharchula Helipad is proposed to be upgraded as a heliport.

15. To help in providing the infrastructure facility for the establishment of Sainik School at Jakholi in Rudraprayag district as the state government has limited financial resources.
