Specialized Training Program for US Embassy gardeners at Institute of Horticulture Technology, Greater Noida
Greater Noida: Gardeners from the Embassy of the United States of America participated in Advanced Gardening and Horticulture Training Program in Institute of Horticulture Technology, Greater Noida from 14 to 25 August 2023. The gardeners in various training sessions received hands on trainings in various modern techniques of Garden and Horticulture.
The experts of the Institute helped the gardeners to enhance the knowledge of landscape gardening so that the U.S. embassy garden and landscape can be made more beautiful & attractive. So that when the gardeners go back to the work in the embassy, the rich history of landscape and gardening from the time of Ramayana and Mahabharata can find place in the landscape of the embassy. The institute endeavors to further enrich the field of landscape and gardening by combining ancient Indian knowledge and modern global technology.
In this training program, gardeners got practical information on soil health management, pest management through organic method. They participated in the training sessions for making new plants, identification of seeds, preparing high-tech nursery of flowers, making nursery of flowers with high-tech method has the following benefits.

Important aspects for appropriate selection of plants, new techniques of grafting, potting, training of trees, pruning, making gardens young, new techniques of landscaping, hedge trees, proper care of plants, using less fertilizer and water, to make the garden trees green formed an important part of the training.
Architectural for making of bonsai was explained in detail to the garners as people like bonsai because it can make plants decorative, give plants a certain shape, beautify plants by stunting growth, impress people by making bonsai, garden beautifying etc. are its advantages.
They took keen interest in preparing of organic fertilizers from the green residues of the garden like leaves etc. Organic fertilizers improve the physical and chemical condition of the soil, increase fertilizer capacity, increase the activity of micro-organisms, improve the structure of the soil, due to which the spread of plant roots is good, and reduce soil erosion. Soil temperature and moisture are maintained.
