Spinach needs less sunlight and soft soil for better results

New Delhi: Spinach is a popular leafy green vegetable. It is nutritious and replete with vitamins and several other minerals that boost immunity. It can be grown at home, and you can enjoy fresh, homegrown leaves. To grow spinach at home, you have to take a big pot.

Spinach has shallow roots, so there is no need to take a deeper container, but space is required so that it can spread easily. If planting in the ground, choose a suitable location. You have to keep the pot in a place where there is no direct sunlight because spinach doesn’t need much sunlight. Water the soil regularly to keep it soft.

You have to bring quality seed for growing spinach at home. Good seeds are available in most of the nurseries. It is advised to buy improved varieties for better production. While fertilizer is not always necessary, using natural compost can improve the quality and production. You can add kitchen waste like vegetable peels or cow manure to the pot.

It’s essential to protect spinach plants from pests. If pests attack, you can use neem oil. Mix neem oil with lukewarm water and spray it on the plants to keep pests away.
