Spring bloom: Kashmir’s Badamwari garden entices visitors

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir is famous across the world as the heaven on earth. Apart from the Tulip Garden, several other gardens and landscapes always entice visitors; among them, Badamwari Garden is one of them. As spring arrives, crowds have thronged to Badamwari Garden, also known as Badam Vaer, as it is another popular attraction in Srinagar. The garden is situated at the foothills of the historic Hari Parbat Fort; currently it is covered with almonds. In this season, almonds blossom. The remarkable beauty of the garden is now enticing both tourists and locals alike.

Almond trees are the first to bloom in Kashmir, and its time is from mid-March to mid-April. During this period the garden is packed with superb fragrance and a remarkable display of white and pink flowers. It is a wonderful time for the visitors to enjoy the peaceful environment, taking selfies and spending peaceful time in a natural atmosphere.

The Department of Floriculture has planted thousands of lavender trees on the upper side of the garden; the beauty of the flowers has made the garden more stunning. The department has been planning to develop it into a theme garden, which will attract more visitors.

The natural beauty has made Badamwari Garden a symbol of Kashmir’s charm. It is the perfect place to visit the garden during the March and April months and spend some precious time with the families in the middle of the blooming almond trees.
