Srinagar’s Tulip Garden to be closed for tourists from April 24

Srinagar: The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar, Kashmir, is set to be closed for visitors from the evening of April 24, 2025. Shakeel Ul Rehman, Director of Floriculture, Kashmir, unveiled this in an official notice. It was opened to the public on March 26 as part of the annual Tulip Show 2025. The Tulip Committee recommended the closure of the garden; it monitors the bloom and conditions of the flowers. The blooming season is about to end, so it won’t remain open further for the visitors.

Located at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range and overlooking the scenic Dal Lake, the Tulip Garden is the largest in Asia. Spanning over 30 hectares, the garden is famous for its colourful display of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, and ranunculus. It was established in 2007 with the goal of promoting floriculture and boosting tourism in the Kashmir Valley.

Designed in a terraced layout with seven levels, the garden attracts thousands of visitors every spring. Tourists from across India and abroad come to witness the breathtaking beauty of the blooming flowers against the backdrop of the majestic mountains.
