Bhilwara: This is the success story of a girl named Ranjana from Bhilwara, Rajasthan. After finishing her Business Management course, she decided to start a new venture. Unfortunately, the deadly COVID-19 pandemic hit the country in 2020. She did not lose heart. Ranjana had exclusive ideas and wanted to do something special to earn name, fame and wealth.

She realized that several people were falling ill after eating bad-quality fruits and veggies during the COVID-19 pandemic. This opened the eyes of Ranjana, and she started thinking about doing something extraordinary for the promotion of people’s health. Despite not knowing the ABC of agriculture, she decided to venture into organic farming. After that, she met with several farmers who used to do organic farming.

Her aim was to grow organic fruits and vegetables and then supply them directly to homes. As a layman, she started online research and hired some experts who had knowledge of organic farming. Fortunately, Ranjana’s family had around 10 acres of land in an outskirt of Rajasthan. She first conducted the soil testing and found that it could be used for organic farming. There was the requirement of fertilizer, and for this cow dung was used to make the barren land a fertile one.

In the beginning, organic farming started on one section of land. Ranjana planted several winter vegetables in her land, such as peas, sweetcorn, beetroot, tomatoes, radish, and so on. She earned a heavy amount from these vegetables.

She turned her attention towards summer vegetables and fruits and grew watermelon, cucumbers, and tomatoes apart from other crops. Ranjana and her team have been growing vegetables and delivering them into customers’ respective houses three times in a week.

Currently, Ranjana has been earning Rs 7,000 every day from her land, and overall, her annual income has reached above Rs 25 lakh from the growth of vegetables and other farm products.
