New Delhi. Products introduced by Syngenta India are built on the innovative PLINAZOLIN® technology. This technology provides excellent defence against a variety of pests and ensures increased crop quality and yields. The problems brought on by climate change and insect resistance, which result in significant crop losses each year can be addressed effectively using this technology.

Incipio is a high-end insecticide that successfully combats new species of stem borers and leaf folders attack on paddy crops. Simodis provides a reliable remedy for cotton and vegetables against sucking and lepidoptera insects like butterflies and moths and is especially effective on vegetables like hot pepper, brinjal, cotton, ground nut, soybean, and red gram.

If pests aren’t successfully managed at the right time, yield losses may result from 30 to 40%. The high incidence of infestation of these pests and the short-term effectiveness of existing remedies are driving up the overall cost and application frequency. According to a research by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), global warming and rising temperatures may increase insect populations globally, resulting in a 10–25% loss in grain production. The IRRI estimates that each year, farmers lose an average of 37% of their rice crop to pests and illnesses.

Syngenta India Launches Incipio & Simodis

Mr. Susheel Kumar, Country Head and Managing Director, Syngenta India, says, “Incipio and Simodis are two of our most recent pest control products for our farmers. We are pleased to bring alternative solution that will provide effective, longer duration control from resistant pests.”

According to Dr. KC Ravi, Chief Sustainability Officer at Syngenta India, “Understanding the critical need for comprehensive solutions, Syngenta India has introduced Incipio and Simodis, specifically formulated to address the unique challenges faced by paddy and vegetable farmers in the country and make the country the largest producer and exporter for many other vegetables.”

The number of application of the product lowers, as the new product offers many pests broad-spectrum, long-lasting, effective control. Susheel continued, “With the introduction of our new products, we seek to provide Indian farmers trustworthy and efficient plant protection solutions, enabling them to increase yields, enhance crop quality, reduce labor costs, and secure their livelihoods.”

India being the 2nd largest producer of eggplant provides key source of income for small vegetable farmers, most of its brinjals are exported to Singapore, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Maldives.

In addition to mites, jassids, and thrips, the shoot borer and fruit borer are difficult to manage pests in eggplant (50–70% yield loss). Growers must spray more than 20 times per season to control these pests using tank-mix various chemicals with short spray intervals to achieve appropriate control.

Incipio and Simodis, which are based on PLINAZOLIN® technology, have a very favorable tank mix profile and may be used with other fungicides if necessary. This novel active ingredient preserves plant health with outstanding efficacy on a variety of dangerous pests that impact important crops. The PLINAZOLIN technology is a game-changer for producers by delivering an easier, more potent, and dependable way to safeguard the yield and quality while still providing excellent control of numerous pests with long-lasting effects and fewer sprays.
