The Horticulture Department Will Plant 25 Thousand Fruit Trees During the Rainy Season.

This year, the Horticulture Department will plant 25 thousand saplings of fruit species during the rainy season. For this, preparations have been intensified while preparing an action plan by the department. Plantation work will be completed by August 15. Under this, three saplings will be distributed free of cost per family.

Along with the Forest Department, the Horticulture Department of the district has also started preparations for plantation. Plants to be planted include mango, lemon, guava, litchi, jackfruit and gooseberry, etc. Digging of pits is being done for planting trees in various gram panchayats including eight state parks. Under the Chief Minister Integrated Horticulture Development Scheme, fruit plants will be provided with a 50 per cent subsidy to the cultivators who plant more than this. The distribution of fruit plants will be made available through 36 Udyan Schal Dal Kendras that are being set up in 11 development blocks of the district. Here, in the last three years, the interest of cultivators in planting fruit trees has increased.

The department is constantly striving for the interests of the gardeners and the cultivators. To promote horticulture, three fruit plants per family will be provided free of cost by the department. The horticulturists and cultivators are given training by the department for better cultivation of fruits.
