PepsiCo’s “Tidy Trials” reaches Agra

New Delhi. The plastic waste management program, Tidy Trails, of PepsiCo India extends its flagship to Agra. This initiative focuses on education and awareness around plastic circulatory in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. With support of The Social Lab (TSL) and the Agra Nagar Nigam, the program will share practices related to plastic waste management with shopping establishments.
Post- consumer plastic waste from over 500 shopping establishments across five market associations will be collected by a dedicated mobile van deployed under the program. Over 50kgs of plastic waste was collected and sent for recycling on an average daily in the first month of the pilot. Over 500 specially branded dustbins were also distributed to the shopping establishments to mark the launch.
Minister of State for Environment Ashwini Kumar Choubey launched the campaign in Agra. He acknowledged the worldwide F&B Company’s commitment and emphasized the need for a team effort to address the problem of plastic pollution. We can construct a road towards a cleaner, greener India by combining the creativity and resources of the business sector, the administrative might of the government, and public responsibility, he added.
“Tidy Trails” in Mathura Vrindavan
The campaign was first launched in Mathura Vrindavan in 2021. The campaign collected 25,000 kgs of plastic from 800 establishments across the city and involved 70 municipal wards in Mathura. Various awareness drives focusing on behavioral change towards responsible plastic waste management reached 6.7 lakh people.

Following its success, we are excited to launch the program in Agra with the support of Agra Nagar Nigam, encouraging people to keep their local environment clean”, she said.
PepsiCo will send all plastic waste collected from shops to waste collectors for segregation. Then, it will be recycled and converted into useful items like benches and chairs, to be distributed across parks and offices of Agra. As many as 60 benches made of plastic, recycled with 21 century Polymers will be distributed for installation in Agra.
