Theme for the Development of Parks: Green Park-Green Delhi

Under the Chief Minister’s Park Beautification Scheme, the parks of the capital will be developed on the theme ‘Green Park Green Delhi’. For this, one in-charge in every Vidhan Sabha, one observer for every two Vidhan Sabhas and two coordinators at the state level are being appointed for training. In this regard, Environment Minister Gopal Rai held a meeting with MLAs and DPGS officials at Delhi Secretariat on Monday.
The first phase survey has been completed: Online process and documents will also be taken to include RWA in this scheme. The MLAs were informed about the parks in their area. In the first phase of the scheme, 70 teams of DPGS have completed the survey of about 11,500 parks out of 16,828 parks in Delhi. Of these, about 6 thousand 345 parks are not maintained.

Financial assistance will be given: For the development and beautification of parks, financial assistance of 2 lakh 55 thousand per acre will also be given to each RWA by DPGS. Along with this, it has also been decided to provide an additional amount of 1 lakh per acre for the development of new parks. Along with this, keeping in view the problem of water in the parks, it has also been decided to provide assistance of 3 lakh 50 thousand per acre for the installation of STP.

RWA can apply to this scheme through an application. First of all, they have to choose a park near them. It is mandatory to have a registered RWA to adopt a park. If no registered RWA exists, create and register a new RWA. After checking the eligibility they will be registered on the e-district portal of the Delhi Government. Also, the documents have to be uploaded.
