Udupi Horticulture Department gears up to host flower and fruit exhibition
Udupi: The district administration of Udupi, in collaboration with the zilla panchayat and the Horticulture Department, is set to host the 15th flower and fruit exhibition 2025 from January 25 to 27 at the horticulture department flower auction center (Farmer Service Centre) premises. Lakshmi Hebbalkar, minister for women and child development and empowerment, will inaugurate the event. Several MPs and MLAs and other dignitaries are expected to attend the exhibition.
The much-awaited flower show in Udupi will feature more than 7,000 plants from 23 varieties, including Petunia, Celosia, Salvia, Chrysanthemum, Marigold, Zinnia, China Aster, and Balsam. There will be an artistic installation in the event replete with 1,25,000 flowers such as roses, chrysanthemums, orchids, and lilies. Arrangement has also been made to display the Karnataka government’s five guarantees—Anna Bhagya, Gruha Lakshmi, Gruha Jyothi, Shakti, and Yuva Nidhi—through a special floral showcase.

A selfie zone has been created from flowers, which will be an attractive spot. Ornamental plants, potted flowers, model terrace gardens, and kitchen gardens are expected to be featured in the forthcoming exhibition. A workshop on terrace garden maintenance is to be held on January 25, and the next day a seminar on suitable horticultural crops for coastal Karnataka will be held.
Visitors can visit the flower exhibition from 10 am to 8 pm. Zilla Panchayat CEO and Horticulture Department Deputy Director have encouraged farmers, students, and residents of Udupi to visit and enjoy this flourishing event and pass some precious time with natural beauty, which is a rare commodity in city life.
