UP Governor hands prizes in Raj Bhawan’s horticulture exhibition
Lucknow: Raj Bhawan in Lucknow witnessed a lot of excitement, chatter, and the sound of clicking selfies as a massive crowd turned to see the three-day horticulture exhibition. With the response of a huge number of visitors, organizers decided to extend the exhibition for an extra day, starting on February 6. The Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel, handed awards to winners in numerous categories on the third day.
Aditya Kumar received a cash prize of Rs 11,000 for showcasing his skills in the making of medicinal and aromatic plants. Likewise, the superintendent of Raj Bhavan Gardens, Lucknow, won Rs 11,000 for getting the maximum points in the government body.

Meanwhile, in the category of artistic flower structure work, the governor handed Sushil Kumar, MD of UPMRC, the first prize for showing remarkable horticulture display. Credit goes to the UP Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) for developing a 1.1 lakh square meter green zone, which includes 65,000 square meters in Lucknow alone and other metro projects in Agra and Kanpur.
Awards were given in many other sections, such as vegetable and fruit displays and photography. Overall, a record 1,777 participants displayed their products. The prize money is likely to be increased so that more participants can take part in the exhibition.
Top officials and other dignitaries like Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharakwal, Additional Chief Secretary Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, and many others were present on this occasion.
