UP govt inspires farmers to adopt modern farming techniques
Lucknow: Horticulture Minister of Uttar Pradesh Dinesh Pratap Singh recently chaired a review meeting at the Horticulture Directorate in Lucknow to know the ongoing progress of numerous departmental schemes. The minister said that the state government has left no stone unturned in the boost of farmers’ income. They are being encouraged to adopt modern techniques in farming, he said. He stressed that ‘our goal is to bring prosperity to the lives of farmers all over the country.’

The minister explained the significance of the farming of flowers, spices, and medicinal plants in the modern age. The productivity of such crops is high even in small areas. The government will form an expert team that will instruct farmers on how to use technology in farming for boosting yield. The minister urged the officials to tell farmers about the government schemes so that they can benefit from them. At last he said that farmers’ problems should not be ignored at any cost.
During the meeting, several key issues were raised, such as the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission, drip and micro-irrigation systems, and hi-tech nurseries. Boosting horticulture along the bank of the Ganga River was also discussed in the meeting.
The initiative has made it clear that advanced technology and proper planning will improve the horticultural yield. The government is set to launch a new action plan for the benefit of farmers to make farming more profitable.
