Up to Rs 3 Lakh Interest-Free Loans for Horticulture Farmers
A farmer loan of up to Rs 3 lakh for horticulture crops like maize, groundnuts, and others has been announced by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at a zero percent interest rate.
The Chhattisgarh government is also providing grants and technical guidance for advanced farming equipment like irrigation in order to encourage advanced horticulture.
Experts in agriculture believe that horticulture farming is three times more beneficial than conventional farming. They claim that this plan will not only encourage horticulture farming throughout the nation. Others will be inspired to follow its example.
Grants-in-aid to farmers: Protected agriculture grants
• A grant-in-aid of fifty percent of the total cost is given to each beneficiary to construct a greenhouse, fan, and pad system.
• In order to construct a polyhouse, a tubular structure shade net house, and a natural ventilation system, the government is covering half of the costs and providing a 4000 square meter area for each beneficiary.
• The department provides constant guidance through the Kisan Call Center at 1800-180-1511.
• Tomatoes and green chilies dominate the crop production in Chhattisgarh. In Chhattisgarh, horticulture crops cover an area of 834.311 hectares and produce 11236.447 metric tons.
