Vegetable cultivation increases Harda farmer’s income in crores

Harda: Ramesh Dhakad, from Harda district in Madhya Pradesh, has made his name in the horticulture sector by dint of hard work, dedication, and innovation. Ramesh switched to horticultural crops instead of traditional farming, which brought a huge success in his farming journey. He adopted modern farming, which fetches him money and increases his crop production.

Currently, he has been successfully growing different varieties of vegetables like chili, capsicum, tomato, garlic, and ginger on 200 acres of land, improving his financial condition. At present, he became a role model for other farmers. Ramesh Dhakad does horticulture crops farming on 130 acres.

He grows capsicum on 25 acres of land. It costs about Rs 1 lakh per acre to cultivate capsicum, but the profits are great, as he produces 300 to 400 quintals of capsicum per acre, earning up to Rs 6 lakh per acre.

Ramesh is also very successful in growing tomatoes. He cultivates tomatoes on 50 acres of land. Although the cost per acre is about Rs 1 lakh, the production is excellent, with 1000 to 1200 crates of tomatoes per acre, bringing in an income of up to Rs 3 lakh per acre.

He is so successful in growing vegetables that currently, he has been sending his veggies to different parts of the country. Several traders reach to his field on a regular basis and buy corps, which gives him a better price. His marketing strategy is scientific, which helps him to get a better price in the market.
