Vietnam and Netherlands boost horticulture relationships at horti-expo

Hanoi: Vietnam and the Netherlands are the trusted partners in the horticulture trade. Both the nations know the potential of the sector. The Netherlands is known across the world for its quality technology and advanced agricultural inputs, while Vietnam is packed with horticultural opportunities. The country needs infrastructure so that production can be boosted.

At the opening ceremony of HortEx Vietnam 2025, Daniel Stork, Counsil General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, highlighted the shared commitment of both countries to reducing agriculture’s environmental footprint, using land and water efficiently, and promoting sustainable practices.

HortEx Vietnam 2025 displayed Dutch contributions in horticulture, eco-friendly growing materials, and efficient supply chain solutions. The Netherlands Pavilion stood out, built using sustainable materials like bamboo, recycled wood, and fabric, reflecting the Netherlands’ dedication to eco-friendly horticulture and innovation.

The Empower Youth 4Food Campaign (EY4F) – Vietnam Chapter was the highlight at the Netherlands Pavilion. This initiative launched in 2024, aiming to inspire the youngsters of Vietnam to engage in horticulture. This venture will connect students and young professionals through business job opportunities and internships.

The deepening relationship between the Netherlands and Vietnam through HortEx Vietnam 2025 highlighted their vision. Vietnamese horticulturists will get an opportunity to learn advanced techniques in horticulture and how to use modern machines. These ventures will increase the yield of crops in Vietnam, making the horticulture sector more efficient.
