World Bamboo Day 2024 celebrates to raise awareness of its products
New Delhi: World Bamboo Day is celebrated every year on September 18 across the world. It came into force in 2009 during the 8th World Bamboo Congress held in Bangkok, Thailand. The aim of the day is to create awareness among the people regarding the importance of bamboo and its products. These products are eco-friendly, making them ideal for sustainable development. The theme of 2024 is “Next Generation Bamboo: Solution, Innovation, and Design.
Bamboo is replete with medicinal properties; the production of utensils, charcoal, and even fine paper is being made from bamboo. It is also used for commercial purposes as well.
