World-Class City Forests in Delhi

The current Delhi government Delhi will develop four world-class city forests in the national capital where people can spend quality time in the lap of nature.
Delhi has 19 urban forests, out of which four have been selected for further development.
The selected forests are Mitron Nagar Forest (98 acres) in West Delhi, Alipur Nagar Forest (48 acres) in North Delhi, Garhi Mandu Nagar Forest (42 acres) in North-East Delhi and Jaunapur Nagar forest (98 acres) in South Delhi.
Only environment-friendly developmental works will be done in these urban forests.
The Forest Department will develop meditation centres, grass and mud amphitheatres and nurseries in the city’s forests. Activities like ‘Bird Watching’ and ‘Jungle Walk’ will be promoted there.
The government will constitute a steering committee which will oversee the development of these four world-class city forests.
