Nursery Today Desk
New Delhi. Earth is our home and nature is our mother. Mother Nature takes care of our needs and essentials. From fresh air to breathe to building shelters to stay, she makes sure we have every vitals to survive on this earth, to enjoy its mesmerizing beauty and ask for everything we need.
We, as human beings have been gifted with the ability to reason and think unlike any other living being on this earth. But, in spite of showing gratitude to what nature gives us, we have started to take its availability for granted. Instead of just plucking the fruits from the tree of nature, we now, unreasonably cut down the whole tree. We exploit nature as if, we, human beings are the owner of this earth and the last generation on this earth. In the greed to development, we have left behind the concept of sustainable development. Our actions has left the whole ecosystem disturbed, environment to be filthy.
We must not forget, every action has equal and opposite reaction. The rage of Mother Nature can be seen destroying mankind and its concrete development. Flood, landslides, cyclones, draught and every other natural disaster is nothing but result of our impartial steps towards development.
Importance of the day
World Nature Conservation Day is observed on July 28 to create awareness about the importance of protecting the environment. It’s an important occasion to educate people about the challenges of climate change and the necessity of conservation of natural resources.
Theme for World Nature Conservation Day 2023
The theme for World Nature Conservation Day 2023 is “Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet” and focuses on strategies to conserve nature, save natural resources and prevent the depletion of resources for our future generations. It aims to highlight the significance of biological diversity, nature conservation, protection of the ecosystem and balancing nature.
So, this World Conservation Day, let’s commit to take tiny little steps from our ends to help restore the nature, such as switching off electrical appliances when not needed, using public transports, planting and taking care of trees and plants, using jute bags in place of plastics etc. Let’s understand and change our attitude of behaving like an owner to being just a renter of this earth. Else, anytime soon, we all will have to face the results of our actions. Let’s heal our mother nature before it’s too late.
