‘Mix It Up!’ is the theme for this year’s World Vegetarian Day, aiming people to turn more and more on vegetable foods instead of meat. Try to eat a veggie burger or add green vegetables to your meals to show how delicious veggie meals can be. The purpose of the theme is to make people healthy and fun-loving by eating different varieties of vegetables.
Experts believe that a vegetarian diet protects people from various dangerous diseases such as heart, kidney, sugar, and so on. Vegetarian diets usually have less total fat and cholesterol and more fiber, magnesium, potassium, and vitamins like C and E. These nutrients are good for heart health.
Plant-based foods naturally have fewer calories and less saturated fat than meat. Vegan diets are rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables, beans, lentils, nuts, and seeds. Those who depend on vegetables and fruit, their weight always remains in control. Fiber-rich foods help them to remain free from diabetes.
