Crowds throng to see vibrant annual flower show in Jamshedpur
Jamshedpur: The Horticultural Society Jamshedpur, in collaboration with Tata Steel UISL and Tata Steel, successfully organized the 34th Annual Flower Show, which started on December 29 at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, and it will continue till January 1, 2025. The exciting display of flowers, creative floral designs, and impressive horticultural exhibits have been drawing a huge crowd, especially nature lovers and experts from across the country.
The flower show witnessed participation from 50 amateur competitors and 25 institutions across eight categories, including chrysanthemums, dahlias, bonsai, medicinal plants, and more, with a total of 169 sections. The event also featured a sit-and-draw competition, drawing over 500 participants.
A large number of people put their feet in this vibrant flower show, enjoying varieties of colourful roses and other flowers. Visitors have been enjoying the festival and appreciated the organizer for providing horticulture and floriculture knowledge to common people.

The Annual Flower Show and Rose Convention continues to attract a huge audience from different walks of life, and they are taking a keen interest in horticulture, gardening, and floriculture. Horticultural Society Jamshedpur has been working with dedication in the promotion of horticulture and its sustainability and how to keep nature’s beauty intact.
The ceremony honored winners across eight categories, including Chrysanthemums, Bonsai, Medicinal Plants, and more, reflecting exceptional gardening talent and dedication.
The event got underway with a technical workshop in which more than 120 students and visitors participated. This session focused on “Traditional Methods of Rose Cultivation under Soilless Conditions,” offering innovative insights into sustainable gardening practices.
An impressive prize distribution ceremony took place on December 30, 2024, celebrating the top performers in various categories. D.B. Sundara Raman, Vice President (Raw Materials), Tata Steel, graced the event as Chief Guest. Several other people were also present on this occasion, such as Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President (Corporate Services), Tata Steel, Ruchi Narendran, Chairperson, Horticultural Society Jamshedpur, Sumita Nupur, President, Horticultural Society Jamshedpur, Sanyogita Dhnvantare, President, Indian Rose Federation; and Anuradha Mohapatra, General Secretary, Horticultural Society Jamshedpur.
