Mangaluru gears up to organize grand horticulture show

Mangaluru: The horticulture departments of various states are busy organizing events for the acceleration of the horticulture sector across the country; it will also help in the creation of awareness and its importance among the people. Therefore, Mangaluru doesn’t like to remain behind; in view of this, a fruit and flower event is set to be held at Kadri Park from January 23 to 26 in the city.

The grand show will be held jointly by the Zilla Panchayat, district administration, horticulture department, and the Kadri Park Development Committee. They have prepared a blueprint for how to manage the event; regarding this preparation, arrangements are being made on a war footing to successfully organize the event without any hassle.

It is expected that more than 20,000 flowers of 30 varieties, including Salvia, Zinnia, Dianthus, Chrysanthemum, Aster, Vinca Rosea, Cockscomb, Dahlia, Petunia, and Torenia, grown in pots will be showcased in the floral exhibition.

It would be a haven for the people from all walks of life, especially the nature lovers. They will get a chance to witness attractive flower and millet-based art forms. Additionally, flower-decorated selfie zones have been designed to thrill the children. Besides this, several stalls will also be set up with unique floral and vegetable designs prepared by local artists.

The event will also showcase the various decorative flowers, bonsai, and Ikebana arrangements. Numerous exclusive fruits, vegetables, and horticultural crafts cultivated by local farmers will also be showcased during the show. An exhibition of horticulture-related machinery and products from nurseries and organic vendors will also be unveiled for the public.
